FAQ

A standard grid-tied system mainly uses solar power and the utility grid. A hybrid system also integrates battery storage, allowing excess solar energy to be stored for evening use, peak-load reduction, or backup power when the system is configured for outage support.

When a grid outage is detected, the hybrid inverter can disconnect from the utility grid and supply selected backup loads from the solar panels and battery. Transfer behavior and backup capacity depend on the inverter model, system configuration, and connected loads.

Battery runtime depends on usable battery capacity and the total power consumed by the connected loads. Essential loads such as lighting, Wi-Fi, refrigerators, and small electronics can operate much longer than high-power equipment such as air conditioners, pumps, or electric heaters..

Compatible hybrid systems can charge the battery from solar power and, when enabled, from the utility grid. Charging schedules and energy priorities may be configured according to electricity tariffs, backup requirements, and local operating rules.

The system can operate household or small commercial appliances within the inverter’s continuous and surge-power limits. Motors, pumps, compressors, and air conditioners require special attention because their starting power can be considerably higher than their normal running power.

Expansion may be possible by adding compatible battery modules, solar capacity, or parallel-capable inverters. The existing inverter model, battery voltage, communication protocol, PV input limits, and installation design must be checked before expansion.
