Yes, when the solar array, inverter, and battery bank are correctly sized for the site and expected loads. Local solar conditions, seasonal weather, daily energy consumption, and the required number of backup days must all be considered during system design.
Runtime depends on usable battery capacity and total load consumption. As a simple example, a larger battery will provide longer operating time, while high-power appliances will discharge it more quickly. Leedpower can calculate the expected runtime from your appliance list and usage hours.
An appropriately sized system can operate lighting, refrigerators, televisions, computers, fans, pumps, and other household or business equipment. High-starting-current appliances must be included in the load calculation to ensure the inverter can handle both continuous and surge power.
During periods of low solar production, the battery supplies stored energy to the loads. Additional battery capacity, a larger solar array, or a compatible auxiliary power source may be recommended in locations with long cloudy seasons or critical power requirements.
Many systems can be designed for future expansion, but additional panels, batteries, or inverters must remain within the electrical and communication limits of the original equipment. It is best to consider future load growth during the initial system design.
Routine maintenance includes keeping solar panels clean, checking cables and protection devices, reviewing battery condition, and monitoring system alarms or performance data. LiFePO4 batteries generally require less routine maintenance than traditional lead-acid batteries.
